Mathematics Education and Social Data Laboratory
Developing Civil Engineering Professionals for the Era of Mathematics, Data Science, and AI
As we enter the era of mathematics, data science, and AI, cultivating civil engineering professionals equipped with data literacy has become an urgent issue for Japan. In mathematics education, traditional research on statistics education is evolving into more interdisciplinary research on data science education that incorporates computer science. In the field of civil engineering, various types of data are handled, and statistical analysis is indispensable. Therefore, from the perspective of statistics and data science education, including STEAM education, our laboratory investigates the competencies and civil engineering literacy required of professionals who will support society in the coming era.
